A Time to Gather is my first instrumental CD. I had written a number of compositions leading up to this recording in various locations on my travels. It was -as the title suggests- time to gather them together. This 11 track CD is strongly melodic and has a relaxed feel with sparse instrumentation throughout. Nothing is overdone and subtlety is the dominant characteristic.
Most of the songs feature nylon string guitar with double bass, steel string guitar and a sprinkling of keys providing the sonic backdrop. The track titled ‘Mt Field’ was inspired by a summer snow experience in Tasmania during my honeymoon.
